[Update: Books Sold. Thanks for your interest!]
Hey there–
With the advent of D&D 4e, it is time again for me to make some space on my gaming book shelf. The list below represents most of the added crunch you could pick up for D&D 3.5 and Star Wars (Revised), with a couple of third-party extras that date back to 3.0. Drop me a line if you are interested in any of these. Next week, anything left over goes to eBay.

The Gift Was Your Company
July 14th, 2008 by Harrison
Annika turned 30 on Friday, but being such a big birthday, she started thinking about party ideas six months ahead of schedule instead of three. Which was great, because I wanted to do something big for her and her concept–the black-tie 60’s era super-spy party–was going to take some serious doing.
But all of the planning in the world pales in comparison to a group of friends who will rise to the occasion. We are very lucky to be surrounded by people like that. Annika was feeling the love on Saturday night, and so was I. You all made the party special and wacky and fun. And you know something else? You all look damn good in formal evening wear.
If you missed the party, you were missed. You may not believe it, but we talked over martinis about how we wished you were with us. I almost think it was a mistake to put an RSVP on the event because it may have left people feeling like they would have been unwelcome–nothing could have been further from the truth. This was a gathering of friends that was wonderful of its own merit, and doubly so for the birthday girl.
I’m hanging up my major events planning hat for the rest of the summer (or at least until my mom finds a condo to move in to), but I just wanted to say thanks. Celebrating Annika’s birthday with you all was as fine a thing as I can imagine doing, and I look forward to finding an excuse for bringing you all together like that again.
Articles of Impeachment, not CNN-worthy
June 10th, 2008 by Harrison
Last night, congressman Dennis Kucinich presented 35 Articles of Impeachment against President Bush. Half a day has gone by and none of the major news agencies seems to have taken notice. Are Articles of Impeachment against President Bush so commonplace that they just don’t get reported anymore?
It’s Who You Are

Last Friday, my dad performed the last surgery of a career that has spanned over thirty years. By my conservative guess, based on a minimum of two scheduled surgeries per week plus countless emergency room calls, his total career count would have to be somewhere in the vicinity of 5000 operations. For the obvious reason that I have no place in an operating room, I never saw his work first hand, but I have looked over his shoulder at the never-ending x-rays of anonymous reconstructed knees, hips and hands. To me, they were bones and screws, plates and stitches. To him, they were his craft, his passion, his profound responsibility.
